More and more work at home mums are making money from online surveys. I’m sure that you have heard this a lot and want to know if it is really true. Well it is absolutely possible. You can earn money filling in surveys. That is if all you are looking to make is a little extra pocket money. And even then, only if you able to recognise and avoid the scams. If you pay to join a survey scheme, you are going to spend a long time simply trying to make back your initial investment!
A good many of the survey companies don’t pay money at all. Instead you are entered for prize draws or build a bank of points that you can then turn in to vouchers or select items from an online catalogue. Even then, it can take you an awfully long time to build up a points value that will get you anything worth having. Those that do pay you in money are likely to pay around 25 cents per survey, nowhere close to the $75 per survey that many of these companies are advertising.
You can not predict how many surveys you will receive from each company and even if you need receive lots, you would need to spend all day everyday completing surveys non stop to earn any real money. Some surveys can take up an awful lot of your time, often 30 minutes and sometimes longer. They also have built in software to flag if you complete a survey too quickly and then they won’t pay you because they don’t believe you have taken the time to answer honestly. You are certainly not going to live an amazing lifestyle from completing surveys alone!
So should you avoid online surveys all together? Absolutely not. If you are looking to earn some extra pocket money or even if you are happy to build up points or vouchers then register with some survey companies and fill in as many as you have time for. But never ever pay to join a survey company. Those companies are making their money from getting people like us to join up, not from surveys!
There really is no need to do this. You do not need to be a member of one of these companies in order to sign up with the companies that will send you the surveys. The only thing that company may do is automate the sign up process for you at a lot of the survey companies. This is not worth money that you would be paying them.
You can easily get a full list of available survey companies. Search for them on Google or visit my website where I have full list for you. You can then take a couple of hours of your own time to register with these companies yourself, keeping your hard earned cash in your own pocket instead of lining someone else’s with it. Whether you do it yourself or some survey scheme does it for you, you will end up with the exact same result.
As you sign up with each company remember to check their payment method. Some will pay cash, some points or bonuses and some pay nothing at all. Make sure you know their method is worth your while before you register with them. Also find out how often they will pay you and whether you have to hit a certain threshold before they pay you anything. If you have to build up $10 or $20 in your account before they will pay you, you could be waiting an awfully long time to get paid!
If you do decide to give online surveys a go then make sure that you follow the golden rule discussed – save your money and sign up to the individual companies yourself for free. It would also make sense to set up a free email address just for your surveys so that your regular email account does not get swamped with surveys.
But do remember, this option is only for you if you only need to make a small amount of money online. If you want to make real money online then online surveys is not the best option for you.
